Kenneth “Ken” LaVoy earned his eligibility to The American Legion through his service in the United States Army during Desert Storm. During that time, he served as an Infantry Anti-Tank Company Commander at Fort Benning, Georgia.
About Ken LaVoy
Ken joined the military in 1986 and served for over 30 years in the Army and Army Reserve as an Infantry and Civil Affairs Officer. Over his career, he held various command and leadership positions within multiple conventional and special operations units. Ken is a combat veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom where he commanded a special operations company in Afghanistan. Achieving the rank of Colonel, Ken retired in 2017 where he currently works as the Director for Civil-Military Operations, Adjunct Faculty and a Senior Instructor for the Joint Special Operations University. He is a 30-year member of Kettering Post 598 where he lives with his wife Michele of 22-years and their two dogs, Lexi and Riley.
